"I have drunk, and seen the spider." "This life as you live it now and have lived it, you will have to live again and again, times without number, and there will be nothing new in it, but every pain and every joy and every thought and sigh and all the unspeakably small and great in your life must return to you and everything in the same series and sequence -- and in the same way this spider and this moonlight among the trees, and this same way this moment and I myself. The eternal hour glass of existence will be turned again and again -- and you with it, you dust of dust! " ---Friedrich Nietzsche |

I had a nice collection of spiders as pets until they all ate each other. This one i called Hector. |
This wolf spider was named Oscar. He seemed to be the least agressive of the bunch. |
This wolf spider was named 'the Bull'. He was extremely hungry and a real killer. |
They will sit quietly in little holes they make in the corner of the web. Note dead spider plastered to the wall. |

In this closeup, you can see the little hole they fashion to hide in. |
This is Ginger, a female, and a great killer in her own right. |
Ginger has killed a fly and is hauling it up to her web. |
If you look close you can see why it's important to eat. She's pregnant! |

This yellow jacket came for lunch. Didn't realize he was on the menu! |
View of the killing floor. Such sloppy eaters. |
Ginger's motto; "Suck 'em dry, 'n hang 'em high". |
Place where Ginger calls home. Note the empty egg sacks from previous hatches. |

Hauling a bee up to the nest like it was a piano. |
Ginger is a very determined girl. Keeps the bee moving. |
Mother to be must keep her strength up. This is a great meal. |
This egg is ready to hatch, and you can see Ginger is ready to deliver a new egg. |

Now pregnant spider maneuvers desicated fly into position. |
This stuff just fascinates me. |
Moment of suspense. Something is about to occur. |

Hundreds of little spiders pour from the egg. Like a galaxy bursting with stars! |
Realize these spiders are as small as a pencil dot; barely visible to the naked eye. |
Close up of mother-to-be and her little hatchlings. |
This is as high as i could zoom the little guys. |

Felt my ankle itching one evening, next thing you know...spider bite! |
Within an hour, i had this nice well formed blister on my ankle. |
This picture is from one month later. Blister seems to be healing. |
I'm just grateful it wasn't a brown recluse bite. i was worried for a while. |
